The purpose of this web site is to help acquaint you with
the basics of working with Yahoo! - especially working with Yahoo! groups.
This is meant to be an introductory rather than a comprehensive tutorial.
Once you learn the basics of Yahoo!, the online Yahoo! Help provides much
more extensive information for you. The navigation bar above will help
provide you with quick access to the various parts of this tutorial.

| Getting Started With Yahoo! | ||

The first thing you must do is to register with Yahoo! and select a Yahoo! ID and password. This ID will give you access to various Yahoo features such as email, groups, and briefcase. An email account will be automatically created for you as part of the registration process. This simply means you have access to this account if you choose to use it, but you do not have to use this email account if you don't want to do so. To start the registration process, go to http://www.yahoo.com. Click on the Help icon found at the top right of the page to get to the registration. |

| When this screen appears, click on the Sign-In and Registration link (circled below in red). | ||

| Next, click on the Register link (circled in blue below). | ||

| Shown below is a copy of the Registration Screen. When you get to this Yahoo! screen, fill in all the blanks. You may want to select your name as your Yahoo! ID since this would make it easier for other group members to identify who you are. Make sure to uncheck the box that says "Contact me..." If you don't uncheck this box you will receive all kinds of unwanted email. When you have finished click on the Submit button. Yahoo! will check your registration information, especially your chosen ID. If your ID is available you will be automatically registered. If not, you will be asked to select another ID until you find one that is available. | ||
